LISTED BUILDINGS

In Schools , churches and homes we have secured the listed building permissions.

VETERINARY

Having worked on a few large veterinary hospitals, and converted small single vets practices we have the experience at both ends of the range.

COMMUNITY

Projects include church re-ordering, a wheelchair exchange base, and for example the boat located on the chepstow bridge space community use project for which we won the competition.

HOMES

Single new homes vary from very modern to traditional. It depends on the client and on the site.

EQUESTRIAN

Riding centres that we have completed include the large Talland School, Cirencester, Bourne Hill Dressage centre on Horsham for Fiona Bigwood, and some other equestrian indoor arenas- usually with a home for the owners.

CHURCHES

David Innes-Wilkin is the inspecting architect for over 25 churches. For many of them we have done the alteration permissions, such as for some re-ordering.

The largest one is the creation of a community centre at St Andrews, Avonmouth. A cross has been created and fitted to the tower, made by a specialist marine mast engineer from composites.

GRAND DESIGNS - not quite, but similar !

Although the tv series wanted to film our first futuristic house, the client declined. Too much trouble for too little fee.

That project was built, in an existing steel frame barn in Surrey.

We have another very modern house being constructed in Devon using only the steel frame.

EDUCATION

We have extended, converted or put new buildings into schools or colleges.

In a science department we re-furbished all the labs and created a new staircase with the brief: “ to inspire young people by making technology part of the school…”

At Clifton High School we re-organised the A level forms into new social areas.

At Colston’s Collegiate School we got permission for moving the listed building gates in order to improve the access.

At Clifton College we made a new reception in a listed building and moved a listed staircase in order to do this.

At Bristol Council Schools we have created new receptions and new community kitchen works.

Many of those are in listed buildings. For these we complete the heritage statements, method statements and so on.

EXTENSIONS AND ORANGERIES

The design might be in keeping or in a contrast with the main building. Every job is a different interesting creation.

COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL

Completed jobs include:

Yankee Candle - offices inside a warehouse- £,600,000

DSSmith cardboard recycling - £ offices and factory layout - £1m

British Aerospace - Wing fitting our facility - £3m

INTERIORS

We are a practice qualified both in town planning to the RTPI level as well as being RIBA .

Master plans that are completed include:

200 homes having been re-built in Brislington, Bristol. ( Sutton Housing Trust )

80 homes and four streets re-modeled in the Barbican, Plymouth. ( Plymouth City Council ). shortlisted for a Europa Nostra conservation award.

200 flats given estate action improvements in St Pauls, Bristol.
